Happy Birthday Acton Garden Club – 90 Years Young!<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Acton Garden Club, in cooperation with the Town of Acton, has renovated the \u201cOval Garden\u201d in front of Acton Town Hall to honor the Acton Garden Club\u2019s organization in 1934 and to celebrate its 90 years of service to the community.\u00a0 A Civic Development grant was sought by the Club and awarded by The Garden Club Federation of Massachusetts to supplement funding and volunteer labor. The Historic District Commission issued a Certificate of Appropriateness for the Victorian era fountain that was installed in the Garden.\u00a0 The fountain was formerly owned by resident Mabel Jenks and it was donated by the O\u2019Neil family. Holly and evergreen conifers have been planted around the fountain.<\/p>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

The Acton Garden Club capped off its year-long celebration of \u201c90 Years of Service to the Community\u201d with a public floral design show, Books in Bloom, December 5\u20137, 2024.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Presented at the Acton Memorial Library, the Thursday evening reception at the Meeting Room had 40 attendees and featured designers discussing their
floral interpretations of books published in the 1930\u2019s and included Madeline, Mary Poppins, The Little Engine that Could, Our Town, The Joy of Cooking, The Hobbit,
Tender is the Night, I Claudius, and How to Win Friends and Influence People. <\/p>\n<\/div>
