Landscape horticulture – the design, installation, and maintenance of both outdoor and indoor environments.
Public horticulture – public gardens, parks, arboreta, and athletic facilities open to all.
Horticultural therapy – the use of plants to improve the condition of people with physical, intellectual or emotional disabilities.
Floriculture addresses field or greenhouse plants grown for their flowers or showy leaves.
Olericulture deals with growing vegetables and herbs.
