May 3       ‘The Constant Garden: Two Thousand Years of Botanical Art’

A Slide Presentation - ‘The Constant Garden’ shows how artists ranging from the muralists of ancient Rome to installation artists of the 20th century have drawn inspiration from nature. This is an introduction to some of the myriad ways in which flowers and plants have influenced human visual and material culture. In addition, Joan Gardner and Susanne Fuller will display antique linens and needlework featuring designs and patterns from nature.
