New Club Projects

Conservation Projects:

Soda and Soup Tabs

Beginning in November 2005, members have been collecting soda and soup can tabs for the Shriners Hospital. These tabs are solid aluminum and are recycled in order to buy both medical and non-medical items.

Inkjet Recycling and Cellphone Recycling

The Acton Garden Club has been recycling used inkjet cartridges and cellphones. The funds received are applied to our conservation program speaker.

Earth Day

This year the Club participated in Acton’s ninth Earth Day celebration on April 28, 2007 at St. Matthew’s Church on Central Street. River Birch trees were sold to the community. Fliers describing the tree and its culture were provided. In addition, cloth recyclable grocery bags were sold in order to reduce the need for so many plastic or paper bags. Information was available regarding Club membership and the plant sale.
