Holly Days - "Holiday Celebrations Around the World"


With an emphasis on decoration made with natural materials, decorated trees, a large mantel display, table settings , decorated wreaths, swags and wall trees grace this year's display. The Holly Days is open from Nov. 27, 2009 to January 3, 2010.

The Acton Garden Club theme is Carnaval de Quebec. On the tree allium bossoms sprayed red and silver represent the carnival fireworks. Lunaria flowers, millet wreaths, a garland of grasses and celosia, maple leaves and queen anne's lace ornaments, locust pod icicles, and golden rain tree fleur-de-lis complete the elegant decorations. Under the tree you find an ice palace made from lunaria petals, hydrangea petals and acorns, birch bark canoes, and the Carnaval host, the Bonhomme de Neige created from a gourd.
The committee of talented members includes: Joan Yatteau, Sandy Bonzagni, Sue Whitcomb, Noreen Rowe, Celia Lionetta, Suzan Sullivan, and Thelma Shoneman as Chairman
